UZBEKISTAN BUSINESS LEADERS (UBL) PROGRAM

Funded by the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Business Leaders is a program for businesspersons and entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan with at least five years of demonstrated leadership experience in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, innovation, social entrepreneurship, regional economic development and technology.

UBL includes:

• Four-week customized workplace experience in the U.S.

• Skill-building workshops on effective communication, negotiation, and persuasion

• Opportunity to develop a customized reciprocal project with a U.S. business

• In-depth mentoring program

PROGRAM GOALS:

• Provide business leaders from Uzbekistan with the skills, knowledge, and inspiration to foster entrepreneurship and exposure to both US and Uzbekistan entrepreneurs and businesses helping them compete in the global market

• Engage business leaders from Uzbekistan in new forms of innovation and entrepreneurship

• Afford promising business leaders and entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan the opportunity to gain practical experience in, and exposure to, U.S. business policies and practices

• Sharpen leadership and technical skills of Uzbek business leaders who are committed to driving economic development

ELIGIBILITY

Participants must:

• Be a mid-level professional, 27-50 years old (be born on/after April 9, 1974 and no later than November 8, 1996)

• Be a citizen and current resident of the Republic of Uzbekistan

• Demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English

• Be a college graduate

• Have at least five years of relevant work experience and commitment to a career in business, entrepreneurship, innovation, social entrepreneurship, or regional economic development

• Have demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills
